About Us

Our History

The Kiwanis Club of La Puente was chartered in 2015 by a small group of community leaders who saw a need to improve the lives of children and families in La Puente.

We are a local chapter of a larger international organization of 7,700 clubs in 80 countries around the world, who collectively give more than 12 million hours and more than $100 million annually to help change the world for the better.

The Kiwanis Club of La Puente proudly belongs to Division 35 of the California Nevada Hawaii District.

Service –  Our Club’s focus is to serve the community, particularly its youth. Members participate in service projects and fundraising activities to provide funding for projects and services. We award scholarships to graduating seniors in La Puente.

Fundraising –  Operating costs of the Club are covered through dues and Happy/Sad Dollars (Administrative Budget). All funds raised from the public (net of direct project expenses) are returned to the community through service projects, programs, and donations (Philanthropic/Service Budget).

Service Leadership Programs – Service Leadership Programs encourage students to lead lives of service and significance. We sponsor Key Club students at La Puente High School and Builders Club at Sierra Vista Middle School. Elementary school students may also join the Kiwanis family by joining K-Kids. Ask us about how to start a Service Leadership Program at your elementary, middle, or high school.
